A Great Day Filming For The Barclays Premiere League

I had a rather interesting day today as I was asked to film some scenes for the opening shots in The Barclays Premiere League which will be shown on Setanta TV, home of all the big sporting events now.

For those of you who want to check it out you can watch it on Saturday, 16 th August 2008 (this coming Saturday).

The producers will be editing some carefully selected shots from myself and some other actors to put together an exciting and gripping montage that will build up the kick off between Sunderland and Liverpool.

Had a great day filming and it was fab  to have had the priviledge to do this in my home town of  Liverpool.  Haven’t filmed there for years since my Brookie days.

Hope you get a chance to check it out!

Why Resting Actors Should Still Take Class

Strangely enough, there are still a few actors who seem to think that just because they have been on an acting course and done their training many years ago, that there is no need to do any more training or take refresher courses.

I can’t stress enough the importance of keeping ‘polished’ in between acting jobs. It’s all too easy to become very rusty after a long break so it’s a good idea to enrol in your local actors centre to keep yourself or rather your craft in good stead.

There are many courses to enrol on and it’s just a case of popping in to have a chat with either the directors or the organizers.

Keep your craft in tune and ready for that next big thing as you never know it may just be around the corner.

To fail to prepare is to prepare to fail!

Clive Hornby: Jack Sugden RIPXXX

I’ d like to pay my respects to the loss of a very good man and friend of mine, Clive Hornby aka, Jack Sugden from Emmerdale, or Emmerdale Farm as the program was known for many many years.

Clive sadly died from an illness a short while ago and was 63 years of age. I had the great priviledge and honour of working with Clive on Emmerdale for a number of years and can honestly say that he was one of the kindest people you could ever wish to meet.

After joining the cast of Emmerdale, Clive was one of the first people to approach me and make me feel very welcome on the show.

As like myself, Clive was a scouser (Native from Liverpool for those of you not from the UK) and had an amazing sense of humour.

It saddens me to have to broadcast this post as I feel that a great man has been taken away from us.

Clive Hornby

RIP
